From a popular, growing Israeli media brand to an uplifting new world content brand

New World Content: Positive News About Everything Cool, Innovative and Good

Through our Open Lab Workshop with the Israel Bidur team, we defined the brand’s future success through an exercise that simulates a future Israel Prize acceptance speech for contribution to society. We physically designed the positive, colorful “packaging” of the brand through different arts and crafts materials. We also defined the brand’s core values including respect, unconditional love, diversity, and positivity.

We physically designed the positive, colorful “packaging” of the brand through different arts and crafts materials. We also defined the brand’s core values including respect, unconditional love, diversity, and positivity.

The Logo

The outdated logo embodied the generic nature of entertainment media, the use of the generic star element was reminiscent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the festive golden color palette was typical of many entertainment media brands who shared the same brand tools.

The first decision Open made regarding the new logo was to tilt the logo to create a slanted incline in the direction of the Hebrew.

We also chose a typography that creates a charismatic, contemporary, uplifting identity. The generic star symbol was replaced by a unique cluster of 4-point stars that create differentiation and distinctiveness within their category. The brand’s fixed color palette was deemed black and white to ensure it stood out against the brand’s colorful, rich content.

Israel Bidur is a brand that resides within stories and TikTok, and therefore emojis and stickers are some of its most significant tools. With everyone using the same stickers and emojis on social media, these tools have become generic. Open dug into the significance of the sticker and realized it needed to be a central, differentiating tool in Israel Bidur’s brand concept. During the process, Open developed a unique, flexible, infinite system for creating one-of-a-kind stickers for Israel Bidur, using the brand’s recognizable star cluster symbol we’d developed for the new logo. The stickers could then be used to praise the subjects of the news coverage and the brand’s followers using countless variations.

Media brands usually publish similar images when issuing celeb reports and different content, more often than not in small-scale formats like a story on mobile. This fact makes it difficult to create differentiation and convert these images and content into assets of the brand that published them. We therefore developed an infinite grid system for Israel Bidur which converts content and images into brand assets, that enable brand differentiation.  The grid system allows Israel Bidur to create lots of content without exhausting its followers. The new grids are in constant motion representing the new world content and by far more suitable for social media
